When the pressure difference reaches a certain level, the bypass valve in the filter will open to ensure sufficient and long-lasting lubrication of the mechanical components. The differential pressure indicator or combination of a switch and a bypass valve can indicate whether the filter requires maintenance before the bypass valve opens.
