With the increasing demand for industrial water, the large-flow filter element is indispensable in the industrial water purification. To maintain the filter element efficiency, it needs to be cleaned if necessary. This paper will introduce several methods to determine whether the large flow filter element needs to be cleaned.
1. According to the filter element type and usage time
Different filter element types have different recommended cleaning cycles:
Standard filter element: clean once in 6 months to 1 year;
High efficiency filter element: 1 year to 2 years;
Grading filter element: cleaned once in 2 to 3 years.
Usually in about 80% of the service life of the filter element need to consider cleaning.
2. According to the flow rate drop situation
Consider cleaning when filter flow drops over 10% to 15%.
The difference between the initial flow and the current flow can be calculated to clean.
3. According to the water pressure rise situation
When the water pressure rises by more than 10% ~ 15 psi, it means that the filter element may accumulate and needs to be cleaned.
The difference between the initial water pressure and the current water pressure can be calculated to determine whether the filtration efficiency decreases.
4. According to the permeability decline
When the permeability drops by more than 10% to 15%, cleaning the filter element can be considered.
Optimizing the permeability helps to prolong the service life of the filter element.
5. According to the filter element accumulation situation
Observe the outside of the filter element frequently. When there is obvious dirt accumulation on the surface, it indicates that the efficiency of the filter element decreases and needs to be cleaned.
Generally speaking, it needs to be cleaned when there is 10%~15% of the dirt accumulation on the surface of the filter element.
To sum up, we can judge whether the large flow filter element should be cleaned according to the type and use time of the filter element, the flow drop, the water pressure rise, the permeability drop and the accumulation of the filter element.
